The wooden pieces are smooth and the little saw actually has a serrated edge that’s realistic without being sharp. My toddler loves clicking the pieces into the tool case, and it’s held up to being dropped down the stairs twice already.
My 3-year-old carries this thing everywhere by the handle, and the wooden pieces have held up through some seriously aggressive "fixing" of the furniture. The wrench and hammer are chunky enough for small hands to actually grip.
The little wooden screwdriver actually turns the bolts, which kept my four-year-old busy for a solid hour. Everything stores back in the carry case so we're not hunting for pieces under the couch. Feels sturdy enough to survive a preschooler, which says a lot.
