The Melissa & Doug Market Basket Fill & Spill is a 5-piece sensory toy that lets infants and toddlers discover textures and sounds in a fun way. Little ones can fill the mesh grocery tote with a chiming milk bottle, a crinkling head of lettuce, a rattling tomato, and a squeaking carrot, encouraging skill-building, screen-free play with every "a-ha!" moment of discovery.
My 10-month-old loves stuffing the mesh basket with the little pieces and then knocking it over. The different fabrics keep her busy for a good 10 minutes.
The mesh tote is the surprise hit here — my daughter loves squishing the crinkly fabric pieces through the netting and dumping them back out. It's held up fine through a month of daily abuse.
My 10-month-old figured out how to stuff the little plush veggies into the mesh tote and dump them out on her own, which keeps her busy way longer than I expected. The crinkle sounds are loud enough to actually hold her attention but not annoying for me.
