Magic Velvet Animal Scenes - On the Go Travel Activity

The velvet-flocked backgrounds are what sold me — the colors pop so much better than plain paper, and my daughter spent almost an hour on one scene without asking for a screen. Six markers is plenty for a car ride, though I wish the caps snapped on a bit tighter.

Bought this for a 6-hour flight and my daughter barely looked up once. The markers are bright and the hidden patterns that appear as you color kept her genuinely surprised. Six colors is plenty, though I wish there were a couple more scenes in the book.

The velvet texture is such a clever touch—it keeps the markers from bleeding and makes the colors pop like crazy. My six-year-old stayed quietly focused for a solid hour during our flight, and the hidden patterns were a fun surprise every time she finished a section.
