My two-year-old figured out the star and octagon on the first try, and now she's obsessed with naming each shape as she drops it in. The paint hasn't chipped at all after a month of daily abuse, which honestly surprised me.
The wooden pieces have a nice weight to them, so they don't slide out when my two-year-old tries to jam the star into the wrong hole. The octagon and trapezoid give him more of a challenge than the usual circle-and-square boards.
