The little safari scenes give my five-year-old an actual reason to keep cutting instead of just snipping random paper, and the pages are sturdy enough that they don't tear when she gets sloppy. She's been at it for 20 minutes straight, which never happens.
My four-year-old asks for this almost every afternoon, and I love that the cutting lines get trickier as you go instead of all being the same straight lines. The safari animals give her something to actually aim for, so she sticks with it way longer than plain scrap paper.
The pages tear out cleanly so my daughter can work on one animal at a time without the whole pad flopping around, and the cutting lines are nice and thick for little hands. She finished the lion page and immediately asked for the giraffe, which never happens with her other workbooks.
